As our family grew, we needed more space but didn’t want to leave the area we loved. Instead of moving, we chose to extend our 10-year-old home. After finding an architect, we needed the right builder, and being introduced to and then engaging Sam from On Top Construction turned out to be the best decision we made. Despite industry-wide cost increases and supply challenges, Sam worked closely with us to keep the project on budget without compromising our vision. The quality of workmanship from Sam and the team was exceptional, and they approached every challenge with a positive, can-do attitude. We’re thrilled with the result and only wish we had done it sooner. We would gladly work with OTC again.

In 2025, Sam and his team at On Top Construction undertook our extensive full house renovation turning a 1970’s farmhouse into a contemporary modern home—we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. As a small team of three, Sam delivered outstanding craftsmanship, attention to detail and exceptional communication, timeline and budget management throughout the large, whole-house project.

Sam’s calm and considered approach every day on site takes much of the stress out of undertaking such an intense project. His small team gave us confidence in their attention to detail and capacity to chat through issues or new ideas in real time. As a hands on client with specific design and execution requirements, Sam worked with us to maximise our vision and tackle practical solutions. When council threw curve balls, Sam supported us through with his knowledge of the process and measured approach to problem solving.

Sam’s attention to detail is exceptional and his transparency throughout every stage of the build, including managing sub-contractors, gave us complete confidence in the process. Personally we loved the whole process and had great fun bringing the unique design to life—Sam was instrumental in that and was very tolerant of a pedantic client!

We have no hesitation in recommending Sam as your next builder; when we undertake a build again, On Top Construction will be our choice. We are happy to speak with anyone considering engaging Sam for their next new build or major renovation—he’s truly an epic builder!

We were very happy with the renovation work Sam and his team completed on our home. The work was efficient, completed on budget as quoted, and to a high standard. Sam was excellent at problem-solving and worked closely with our architect to keep everything progressing without unnecessary delays. We are extremely happy with the finished result and would have no hesitation in recommending Sam and his team or using them again in the future.

Sam and his amazing team built our dream home and what a fabulous experience it was. We have built a number of times before but never with someone whose craftsmanship, sticking to budget, timelines and communication was so good. We highly recommend him and his team, in fact a number of friends have gone on to build with them and have been as thrilled as us.
